Fateema Sayani has written about the arts scene since 1998 where she started with the arts weekly Capital City. She manages special editorial projects and writes long-form features as a freelance writer. Her work has appeared in Maisonneuve, enRoute, and Ottawa Magazine, where she is a contributing editor. She is currently a master’s candidate in the school of public policy at Carleton where she studies non-profit leadership. She sits on the board of directors of Girls Action Foundation/Fondation filles d’action where she promotes media literacy programs for girls and young women.
