unnamed Shindig DJs + DJ General Eclectic

General Eclectic truly lives up to his name as one of Canada’s most diverse DJs, taking dancers on a musical journey around the globe and back again with the flick of his wrist! With nearly 20 years of experience, he seamlessly mixes between numerous genres, defying categorization while rocking audiences from the most die-hard music lover to the casual party goer. Armed with an encyclopedic knowledge of music and over 8000 records, his DJ sets are a testament to the transformative power of dance in bringing people together and are a huge factor in the success of his own Foot Prints, Uma Nota and Shindig events – which are among some of the longest running and beloved in the country.
When not rocking crowds around the globe, General Eclectic can be found pushing pixels and selling rare records as a graphic designer and record dealer by day in his hometown of Toronto.

Splattermonkey, the funky vinyl junky, is a vintage music master! He started spinning records in 2003 and has rapidly made his way through the ranks to become one of the funkiest DJs in Canada. Known for his expansive knowledge of classic 50’s and 60’s music, this man never stops digging for vinyl all over North America and is the mastermind behind Toronto’s only all vinyl vintage R&B party, Shindig! On top of rocking parties behind the turntables, he’s also an accomplished sound and video technician working in radio and live events for over 10 years.

Shindig is Toronto’s only dance party specializing in rare and rockin’ 1950s and 1960s Rhythm & Blues, Soul and Early Rock n’ Roll 7″ 45 rpm vinyl records! Named the best niche dance party and the most authentic vintage dance party in Toronto by Blog TO in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Shindig’s success is due to resident DJs General Eclectic, Splattermonkey and Parkdale Funk’s ability to combine rare and forgotten vintage gems along with the all-time classic hits that have shaped the sound of modern day music. The result is an event that has an enormous appeal, attracting capacity crowds to The Piston bar each and every month.
